OG declared man of the match

19 Jun 2008

OG Ben Youngs (Tallis, 2006) made his mark on the rugby pitch after scoring two tries in the Junior World Championship match between England and Canada at Rodney Parade earlier in June.

The eighteen year-old scrum half was declared 'man of the match,' and played alongside a range of talented U20s including Leicester Tigers teammate Gregor Gillanders in a match which saw England win 60-18.

Now in his second year with the Leicester Tigers, Ben became the youngest player in the club's history to join the senior team in April 2007.  Coming from strong rugby stock, Ben's brother Tom (Tallis, 2004) currently plays for the Leicester Tigers' first team and his father Nick (Farfield, 1978) also played for the Tigers and England during the eighties.
